Kristi A. Olson is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Bowdoin College, currently on leave for the 2024–2025 academic year. Her research focuses on applied ethics, economic justice, and political philosophy, with a particular emphasis on fairness, equality, and public policy. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University and has held a Fellowship at the National Humanities Center (2022-2023).

She is known for rigorous analyses of multidimensional equality and the philosophical underpinnings of economic systems.

Recent articles engage with envy-based fairness, Pareto efficiency, and the ethical dimensions of autarky as a baseline for resource distribution.

Teaching & Engagement: Olson teaches courses on ethics, political philosophy, and applied moral issues such as climate change and racism.
