Kristen Lucas

Kristen Lucas is an Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs at the University of Louisville College of Business. She holds a PhD and MA in Organizational Communication from Purdue University and a BS in Public Relations from Northern Michigan University.

Dr. Lucas specializes in business communication, focusing on gender and labor dynamics, ethical decision-making in entrepreneurship, and workplace dignity. She pioneered a competency-based business communication curriculum adopted by over 100 universities globally and co-authored the textbook Competent: Becoming a Better Business Communicator.

Her research includes publications in Business and Professional Communication Quarterly, BizEd Magazine, and Group and Organization Management. She led international "teach-the-teacher" workshops and presented at AACSB conferences.
