Kristen Campbell Wilcox is Professor in the Department of Educational Policy & Leadership at the University at Albany's School of Education. Her research examines policies and practices that close opportunity gaps for diverse learners, particularly adolescents and young adults. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University at Albany.
Research Focus
Wilcox investigates intersections of language, culture, and academic performance through mixed-methods studies of 'odds-beating' schools - institutions achieving exemplary outcomes with diverse student populations.
Leadership and Impact
- Served on President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics
- Contributed to New York’s Governor Cuomo Summit for Drop-out Prevention
- Developed improvement science resources for K-12 systems based on NYKids research
