Kristen Bieda

Kristen Bieda is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University (MSU) and currently serves as Interim Chair of the department. She also holds the role of Associate Director of Mathematics for the CREATE for STEM Institute. Her research focuses on reasoning and proof in middle and secondary mathematics education, teacher professional development, and innovative digital curriculum designs that enhance student collaboration through learning analytics. She previously taught secondary and undergraduate mathematics.

Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Professional roles include President of the Michigan Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (MAMTE). Her work also explores new models for clinical experiences in secondary mathematics teacher preparation.

Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the CREATE for STEM Institute, a research unit focused on advancing STEM education through interdisciplinary collaboration.
