Kristel Fobelets

Professor Kristel Fobelets is Professor of Nanodevices at Imperial College London and Deputy Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Her vision focuses on sustainable wearable technology using non-scarce materials.

Research Innovations: Developed ultra-wearable knitted respiratory inductive plethysmography belts and ECG electrodes. Pioneered silicon nanowire thermoelectric generators and graphene-coated biosensors for medical applications.

Leadership: Directs teaching innovation and curriculum development. Previously served as Director of Undergraduate Studies (2014-2021).

Applications: Wearable health monitoring, terahertz imaging, and sustainable energy harvesting devices.
