Kristaps Jurjāns is a Teaching Staff member in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Rīga Stradiņš University. His research focuses on acute ischemic stroke management, mechanical thrombectomy outcomes, and vascular pathologies. He collaborates on projects funded by the European Social Fund and Latvian government, including CT perfusion criteria development for stroke prognosis and capacity-building initiatives.
Key research interests include stroke prognosis after thrombectomy, thrombus composition analysis, and rare vascular anomalies. His work addresses clinical challenges in interventional neurology and stroke rehabilitation. Jurjāns actively contributes to academic committees and has been a media resource for public health topics like stroke awareness and vaccine safety.
