Krista Maree Mehlhaff

Krista Maree Mehlhaff is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She serves as Medical Director of the Obstetric Care Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Director of Patient Safety, Risk Mitigation and Care Enhancement for her department. Her career includes 14 years in the United States Air Force as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist and obstetrician/gynecologist, culminating in leadership roles at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Mehlhaff's research and clinical interests focus on preterm birth, perinatal palliative care, maternal morbidity/mortality, simulation training, teamwork in obstetrics, and quality improvement. Analyses of her publications reveal recurring themes in perinatal neurology, fetal viability, and military healthcare applications.
