Prof. Krishna Rajan is the Erich Bloch Chair and SUNY Empire Innovation Professor at the University at Buffalo. He leads the Department of Materials Design and Innovation within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. His research focuses on Materials Informatics, quantitative imaging techniques like atom probe tomography, and data-driven materials discovery. He holds a ScD from MIT (1978) and a BASc from the University of Toronto (1974).
Professional career highlights include roles at Iowa State University (2005–2015), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1987–2005), and the National Research Council of Canada (1980–1987). He has served as Director of the NSF International Materials Institute (2002–2009) and holds editorial roles in Nature Scientific Reports.
