Krishna N. Balasubramaniam

Dr. Krishna Balasubramaniam is Lecturer in Conservation and Animal Behaviour at Anglia Ruskin University's School of Life Sciences. His research examines primate social behavior, human-wildlife interfaces, and zoonotic disease transmission in anthropogenic environments.

Research integrates behavioral ecology, network analysis, and disease ecology to study macaque societies. Projects investigate how socio-demographic factors influence human-wildlife interactions across species and cultural contexts. Fieldwork includes comparative studies of rhesus, bonnet, and long-tailed macaques in India and Thailand.

Publications analyze microbial transmission networks, anthropogenic impacts on primate sociality, and conservation strategies for human-dominated landscapes. Funded projects include NSF-supported research on human-macaque coupled systems and NIH-funded studies of social connectedness and health.
