Kris Kyle is an Associate Professor in the Linguistics Department at the University of Oregon and director of the Learner Corpus Research and Applied Data Science (LCR-ADS) lab. His research focuses on how readers and listeners assess proficiency through lexical, lexicogrammatical, and syntactic features of texts, using computational methods and corpora. He develops tools for text analysis, including Python packages and web applications. His work emphasizes usage-based and emergentist frameworks, with applications to second language acquisition and corpus linguistics.
