Konstantina Lambrinou is a Professor of Advanced Materials at the University of Huddersfield, School of Computing and Engineering, Department of Engineering. She is an active member of the Centre for Engineering Materials and accepts PhD students. Her research focuses on eutectic systems, ceramic materials, lead-free solders, and thermal barrier coatings, with expertise in microstructure analysis and physical vapor deposition techniques.
Her work intersects materials science, metallurgy, and nuclear engineering, particularly in irradiation effects and joining technologies for extreme environments. She has contributed to the synthesis of MAX phases and MXenes, emphasizing nanolaminated structures and colloidal stability.
Recent article trends highlight her engagement with nuclear material challenges, including irradiation-induced precipitation, SiC/SiC joining for reactor components, and strain localization mechanisms in irradiated alloys.
As a member of the Centre for Engineering Materials, Lambrinou collaborates internationally on advanced material solutions for energy and industrial applications.
