Dr. Konstantin Nikolic is a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London's Centre for Bio-Inspired Technology, Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He concurrently holds a Professorship in Computing (AI, ML, Data) at the University of West London. He has been affiliated with Imperial College London for nearly 15 years, holding various roles, including Senior Research Associate and Wilfred Corrigan Research Fellow. His academic background includes a BEng and MSc from Belgrade University (Serbia) and a PhD in Physics from Imperial College London.
Research interests span neuromorphic systems, spiking neural networks, computational neuroscience, neural stimulation, biomodeling, and nanoelectronics. He leads or co-leads major projects such as the EPSRC Platform Grant (2015-2020), ERC Synergy Grant (i2MOVE, 2013-2018), and the FP7-funded SeeBetter project (2011-2015). His work integrates bio-inspired technologies with advanced healthcare systems.
Notable contributions include innovations in point-of-care breath analysis devices, neuromodulatory implants, and optogenetic manipulation.
