Konstantin G. Arbeev is an Associate Research Professor at Duke University's Social Science Research Institute, specializing in biodemography, biostatistics, and genetic epidemiology related to aging, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and longevity. With a background in applied mathematics and physics, he focuses on integrating genetic and non-genetic factors to model aging-related processes using longitudinal data from studies like the Long Life Family Study and ADNI.
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics and Physics, Ulyanovsk State University (1999)
- M.S. in Applied Mathematics, Moscow State University (1995)
Dr. Arbeev's research spans methodological advances in joint modeling of longitudinal omics data and mortality outcomes, physiological dysregulation as a measure of aging, and genetic interactions influencing AD and longevity. His work leverages stochastic process models and biomarker analysis to uncover causal pathways.
Recent publications explore genetic variants linked to extreme longevity, APOE4-infection synergies in AD pathology, and metabolite signatures of aging. His projects are funded by the National Institutes of Health (2021–2026), focusing on population-based data for AD prevention and genetic heterogeneity in vascular diseases.
