Konrad Vössing

Professor Dr. Konrad Vössing holds the Chair of Ancient History at the University of Bonn since 2005. His research focuses on Late Antiquity, the Vandal Kingdom, North African history, ancient education systems, and material culture studies. He has held visiting professorships (Collège de France 2013) and is co-speaker of the Bonn Cluster of Excellence 'Beyond Slavery and Freedom'.

Recent publications (2019-2022) explore: Vandal royal residences (2019), Late Antique resistance philosophy (2021), Christianization patterns in Africa (2021), and Augustine's educational context (2020). 15+ articles analyze textile identity, religious persecution chronology, and Roman banquet symbolism.
