Konrad Turek is an Assistant Professor at Tilburg University's Department of Human Resource Studies, affiliated with the Herbert Simon Research Institute. He holds a PhD from Jagiellonian University (2015) and is a guest researcher at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI-KNAW). His research focuses on ageing labour markets, social inequalities, and quantitative methodology, particularly in longitudinal and multilevel analysis. He co-developed the Comparative Panel File (CPF), an open-source harmonization initiative for household panel surveys.
Key research areas include retirement transitions, employer-employee dynamics, and the role of lifelong learning. Notable projects include the LEEP project (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship) on human capital investments for retirement, and contributions to Poland's national strategy for older workers. He has published extensively on age stereotypes, organizational policies, and comparative lifecourse studies.
Awards include the Best Paper Award (LIVES, SLLS) for work on training participation's impact on retirement decisions. Teaching expertise spans multilevel data analysis, age management, and quantitative methods. He is involved in research networks like the European Sociological Association's Ageing in Europe RN01 and the Society for Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies (SLLS).
