Kongchang Wei

Dr. Kongchang Wei is a Scientific Group Leader at Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology), where he heads the Tissue-Regenerative Soft Materials research group. He holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics and a BSc in Polymer Materials and Engineering, both from Fudan University.

His research focuses on biomaterials development with emphasis on tissue-regenerative soft materials and biointerfaces. Primary research areas include:

• Tissue engineering scaffolds
• Polymer-based regenerative systems
• Biomaterial-cell interactions
• Soft material design for medical applications

Dr. Wei received the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship during his work at Empa. His career includes extensive international experience with research positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong prior to his current leadership role.
