Kokos Kogkalidis is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science, affiliated with the Professorship of Garg Vikas. His research focuses on computational linguistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on syntactic structures, dependency types, and natural language processing (NLP) applications. He has contributed to advancing algebraic methods in positional encodings, structure-aware representations in programming languages, and NLP test frameworks for under-resourced languages like Swahili and Greek.
Research Interests: Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Graph Convolution, Syntax Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence. His work integrates techniques from syntax theory, dependency parsing, and neural networks to address challenges in multilingual NLP and structured data representation.
Awards:
- E. W. Beth Dissertation Prize (2024)
- EuroProofNet Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) Grant (2023)
Advising & Grants: While no formal advisees are listed, his STSM grant highlights collaborative research efforts. His work on OYXOY demonstrates contributions to Greek-language NLP resources and evaluation standards. Research collaborations span computational linguistics and theoretical syntax, as indicated by his fingerprint topics.
