Koenraad Debackere is a full professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at KU Leuven, holding the position of Executive Director of KU Leuven Research & Development. He leads the Department of Management, Strategy and Innovation and heads the Divisie Incentim while participating in the LIBIS Division. His work bridges academic research with practical innovation, focusing on technology transfer, strategic patenting, and economic valuation of innovation. He has contributed to policy analysis in renewable energy, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
Research interests include organizational culture in technology transfer offices, interdisciplinarity measurement, and biotech cluster dynamics.
