Koen van Vught is an Associate Professor at the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law, affiliated with the School of Law at Utrecht University. His expertise lies in corporate law, focusing on decision-making doctrines, representation, corporate litigation, and the legal frameworks of associations and foundations. He actively contributes to academic discourse through editorial roles and invited talks.
- Education: PhD in Law (2020, Radboud University), Research Master Business & Law (2015, Radboud University), Master of Public and Administrative Law (2015, Radboud University).
His research explores classical legal doctrines and the evolving dynamics of corporate law, particularly its socialization. Recent work addresses technical challenges in virtual shareholder meetings and the validity of corporate decisions. He teaches corporate law at both bachelor’s and master’s levels and coordinates the master’s program in Business & Law.
Notable activities include editorial roles at the Monthly Journal for Corporate Law and Ars Aequi, as well as external lecturing engagements. He founded the Belangeloos Verenigingsrecht Foundation for free legal advice to small associations.
