Kody Manke-Miller is an Associate Professor of Psychology (Teaching) and Director of Research on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Carnegie Mellon University’s Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. They hold a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University.
Manke-Miller’s research focuses on social identity, stereotype threat, and self-affirmation interventions, particularly in educational contexts. Their work explores how social perceptions impact academic outcomes and long-term belonging, with a special emphasis on first-generation students and underrepresented groups. They lead the Data Driven Diversity (D3) Lab, collaborating with researchers in Social and Decision Sciences, the Human Computer Interaction Institute, and the Tepper School of Business to study diversity’s impact on student success.
