Klaus von Klitzing

Klaus von Klitzing is Director and Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart and Honorary Professor at the University of Stuttgart. Previously, he held a professorship at the Technical University of Munich (1980-1984). He received his doctorate and habilitation from the University of Würzburg after studying physics at TU Braunschweig.

His research revolutionized condensed matter physics through the discovery of the quantized Hall effect, with ongoing work in quantum transport phenomena and solid-state systems. This research bridges fundamental physics and precision measurement science.
