Klaus Weyerstrass

Klaus Weyerstrass is a Privatdozent (equivalent to Senior Lecturer/Research Fellow) at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), affiliated with the research group Business Cycles, Growth and Public Finances. He has been at IHS since 2006 and leads the Macroeconomic Analysis competence area. Previously, he worked at the Halle Institute for Economic Research in the Department Business Cycles and Growth.

• Education: Studied Economics at the University of Osnabrück, earned a doctorate from the University of Klagenfurt (2000), and completed his habilitation (venia docendi) there in 2014.

Klaus specializes in economic analysis and forecasting, productivity analyses, and macroeconomic modeling. His work involves assessing international economic environments, investment and production potential in Austria, and contributing to the German Joint Economic Forecast. He utilizes macroeconometric and time series models for his research, with a focus on foreign trade issues and economic policy consulting in Austria.

As part of IHS's economic forecast group, he actively bridges theoretical modeling with practical policy advice. His analytical frameworks are applied to both national and international economic trend analysis.
