Klaus Herbst

Dr. Klaus Herbst is a Lecturer at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne within the Media and Fine Art division. His teaching and research span interdisciplinary practices that intersect art, media, and technology.

He engages with contemporary art practices in the Global South and explores expanded frameworks for art history in media contexts. His work is associated with the Academy's facilities such as the Animation Studio, Film Studios, and Interface Laboratory.

As part of the Media and Fine Art faculty, he contributes to programs in Photography, Creative Producing, and Sound Transformation Design. His role involves bridging technical infrastructure with artistic experimentation through the Central Lending Office and Grading Infrastructure facilities.
