Klaus Haidl

Klaus Haidl is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Music, Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK), specializing in historical and contemporary performance practices. His work bridges early music, jazz, and experimental genres, with a focus on basso continuo and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Education:
He studied jazz guitar at Franz Schubert Conservatory (Vienna), classical guitar (contemporary focus) at University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and early music lute at MUK under notable mentors including Luciano Contini.

Research Interests:
Haidl's artistic research encompasses the history of basso continuo, transcription of historical manuscripts, real-time improvisation, and interdisciplinary projects merging music with theater, film, and literature. He performs internationally as a multi-instrumentalist (lute, guitar, mandolin).
