Dr. Kiyoshi Sasaki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences at Winthrop University. He holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining Winthrop in 2017, he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Loyola University Maryland and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Laurentian University (Ontario, Canada).
His research focuses on understanding how human activities—such as habitat modification, pollution, exploitation, invasive species, and climate change—affect wildlife populations and communities. He investigates the ecological and evolutionary mechanisms driving species responses to anthropogenic stressors.
