Simon Kirby is a Professor of Language Evolution at the University of Edinburgh and Director of the Centre for Language Evolution. He holds dual appointments in Linguistics and interdisciplinary research, leading a team of 12 staff, 13 PhD students, and 16 MSc students. His work bridges biology, culture, and technology through iterated learning models and art-science collaborations.
