Kipp Weiskopf is a Valhalla Fellow at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and an External Affiliated Fellow at MIT's Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. He concurrently serves as a physician at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, bridging clinical practice with innovative cancer immunology research.

His research focuses on harnessing myeloid cells, particularly macrophages, to combat cancer by targeting immune evasion mechanisms like the CD47/SIRPα pathway. His work has pioneered CD47-blocking therapies that enhance immune recognition of cancer cells and demonstrated their potential in small cell lung cancer and bone marrow transplantation.
Recent publications highlight advancements in macrophage activation for cancer destruction (2024), discovery of MHC class I-LILRB1 immune checkpoint (2017), and SIRPα variant development (2013). These studies reflect his long-term interest in immune-cancer interactions and therapeutic translation.
