Kimberly van Vulpen serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Salisbury University. She holds a BASW from Salisbury University and earned her MSW and PhD from the University of Maryland.
Her academic focus centers on critical end-of-life domains:
- End-of-Life Care and Palliative Social Work
- Bereavement Counseling across age groups
- Specialized Grief Interventions for Children
- Gerontological Social Work practices
Dr. van Vulpen teaches foundational courses in social work practice, human behavior, and research methodology while offering specialized electives including Death and Dying, Social Work with Older Persons, and Children's Grief and Bereavement. Her clinical expertise extends beyond campus through active volunteer service with Coastal Hospice's pediatric bereavement team.
