Kimberly Turner

Kimberly Turner, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor of Financial Planning at The Irwin Graduate School of The American College of Financial Services and an Adjunct Professor at California Lutheran University's School of Management. She is also the founder and COO of Retirement Planning Doctors, LLC, specializing in retirement plans for doctors. Her career spans real estate development (1998–2009), transition to capital markets and risk management post-2009, and a prior role as a physician assistant. She holds advanced degrees and multiple financial industry licenses, including CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, CAP®, and CLTC®.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida
• Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) from The American College of Financial Services
• PhD in Financial Planning and Retirement Planning (2019) from The American College, making her the first African-American woman to earn this distinction

Research Interests: Turner’s expertise focuses on retirement planning, risk management, insurance strategies, and portfolio diversification. Her work bridges healthcare affordability (from her prior career as a physician assistant) with financial planning for professionals, particularly in high-risk fields like medicine.
