Kimberly Poitevin is a Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Salem State University. Her academic work bridges multiple disciplines, focusing on critical race studies, gender studies, and early modern literature. At Salem State, she teaches courses such as Freshman Honors Writing, Senior Honors Project in English, and Introduction to Women's & Gender Studies, alongside advanced honors seminars.
Her research explores intersections of race, gender, and colonialism in early modern England, particularly through the lens of cosmetics, drama, and cultural practices. She has extensively examined the historical roots of white supremacy, the role of women in early modern discourse, and the material culture of race-making.
