Kimberly Deranek is a Professor and Chair of Decision Sciences at the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship, Nova Southeastern University. With over 25 years of industry experience, she bridges academic and practical domains through certifications like PMP and SAMC, and by integrating real-world insights into undergraduate and graduate courses such as Project Management, Supply Chain Information Systems, and Lean Entrepreneurship.
Her research focuses on enhancing supply chain efficiency via digital transformation, process innovation, and sustainable practices. Key themes include wearable technology adoption, ERP simulation pedagogy, and lean methodologies in healthcare and manufacturing. She has published in journals like Journal of Computer Information Systems and Behaviour and Information Technology, and presented at conferences including NEDSI and SEDSI.
Dr. Deranek's industry background spans healthcare, manufacturing, and service sectors, with expertise in facility redesign, software evaluation, and process improvement. Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Technology and M.S. in Education from Purdue University, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University.
