Kimberly Ackert is a Part-time Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design, The New School. She is the principal and founder of Ackert Architecture, a firm specializing in residential, hospitality, and installation projects. With over 30 years of experience, she previously worked at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, and Richard Meier and Partners. Her teaching spans Harvard University, Yale School of Architecture, Cornell School of Architecture, and currently includes design studios in Architecture, Lighting, and Interior Design at Parsons.
Her professional work has been internationally recognized, including features in *40 Under 40*, *New York Times Magazine*, and *Architectural Review*. She holds the prestigious Mercedes T. Bass Rome Prize in Architecture. Ackert's academic contributions focus on graduate-level design education across multiple disciplines, blending practice and pedagogy.
Future courses include *Design Studio 3 (PGAR 5201)* in Fall 2025, while past courses include *Looking Beyond: Glass Ceiling (PSCE 5130)* in Spring 2025. Her architectural projects emphasize innovative material use and contextual responsiveness, as seen in both commercial and residential sectors.
