Dr. Kim Ward is a Professor and Coordinator of the Math Foundations Program at Eastern Connecticut State University's Department of Mathematical Sciences. She specializes in mathematics education, curriculum development, and student academic success strategies. Her work focuses on supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students through initiatives like the NSF-funded S-STEM and LSAMP grants.

Her research emphasizes modeling student academic practices in first-year mathematics courses and leveraging open educational resources (OER) to reduce financial barriers. She coordinates the Eastern Success Scholarship Program (ESSP), which supports scholars through mentorship and scholarships. Ward teaches foundational math courses including Calculus and Differential Equations, emphasizing life-long learning skills like time management and study strategies.
