معرفی
Kim Sneppen is a Professor at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, leading research in Biocomplexity. A member of the Danish Royal Academy since 2006, he has held leadership roles including Center Director of Models of Life (2005-2015).
- Current research focuses on discrete states in biological systems through agent-based modeling
- Expertise spans epigenetics, phage-bacteria coevolution, ecosystem dynamics, and regulatory feedback systems
Recent publications highlight interdisciplinary work in statistical mechanics applications to biological systems, including:
- Fractal analysis in sandpile models (2025)
- Phage strategy optimization in boom-bust environments (2025)
- Self-inhibiting viral spread in epithelial tissues (2024)
Honors include:
- University of Copenhagen Gold Medal (1986)
- Ole Rømer Prize from Royal Danish Academy (1995)
As a supervisor of 15 PhD students and 8 postdocs, with 3 former advisees now tenured faculty, he contributes to academic training. His work bridges physics and biology through computational models.
