Kim J. Ruhl is the Curt and Sue Culver Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin, where he co-directs the Center for Research on the Wisconsin Economy. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a former Special Sworn Researcher at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). Ruhl earned a B.S. in Economics from Bowling Green State University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
- Research Focus: International economics, multinational firm dynamics, and national income accounting.
- Teaching: Offers courses in Data Analytics (Undergraduate: Econ 570; MS: Econ 770) and Advanced International Economics (Econ 871).
- Workshops: Organizes the Atlanta International Workshop alongside Simon Fuchs, Federico Mandelman, and Vivian Yue.
He is currently on leave from UW Madison and NBER until April 2026.
