Kim Diver is a Lecturer and Concentration Advisor in the Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan. With over twenty years of research experience, she applies spatial analysis to ecological and social systems.
Dr. Diver's research combines field data and GIS to examine spatiotemporal distribution of plant species across archipelagoes including Great Lakes islands and tropical Pacific ecosystems. Additional projects investigate black bear range expansion, ash decline impacts on songbirds, and homeless utilization of built environments.
Her publications demonstrate methodological innovation in spatial pattern analysis. Recent work examines abandoned housing patterns through geographic lens while foundational research advanced island biogeography theory.
