Kim Andersen

Kim Andersen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Management within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark. He is affiliated with the Journalism VIP and Digital Democracy Centre, focusing on the intersection of media, democracy, and public engagement.

• Research areas: News media’s role in democracy, news consumption patterns, political knowledge, trust in media, news avoidance, and alternative news.

His recent research explores news avoidance, repertoires, media-induced anxiety, and exemplar theory, with a longitudinal perspective on audience behavior.
