Kilian Weinberger is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and a Mathematics and Computing degree from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on Machine Learning, including applications in autonomous vehicles, computer vision, deep learning, and AI in Science. He previously served as an Associate Professor at Washington University in St. Louis and worked at Yahoo! Research. His awards include the NSF CAREER Award, ACM/AAAI Fellowships, and multiple best paper awards. He has led significant initiatives like co-chairing ICML 2016 and AAAI 2018, and currently chairs the ICML Society. His lab's work spans autonomous driving perception, efficient deep learning architectures, and interpretable models. He advises numerous Ph.D. students and contributes to teaching, including courses like CS4780/CS5780 (Machine Learning).
