Kiera Allison is an Assistant Professor of Commerce at the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia, teaching Management Communication with dual emphases on public speaking and communication technology.

Research Profile
Her research investigates cognitive processes in spoken performance by merging social cognitive theory with performance studies, examining how internal states (emotions, content mastery, argument structure) manifest in vocal/physical presentation. With UVA's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Scholars program support, she studies social learning's impact on student development as writers/speakers. She bridges communication studies with emerging technologies through inter-university research on AI's educational impact, serving as a Faculty AI Guide liaison between McIntire and the University. She developed the "Writing with Generative AI" course for Commerce Essentials to prepare students for AI-augmented professional writing.
