معرفی
Kian Shaker is a Research Fellow at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, returning in October 2024 with a repatriation grant from the KAW Foundation. Previously, he completed his PhD (2018–2022) in the Department of Applied Physics at KTH under Prof. Hans Hertz, focusing on X-ray contrast mechanisms and clinical imaging applications. His postdoctoral work (2022–2024) at Stanford University’s Radiological Sciences Laboratory involved global health and frugal engineering, leading to the development of OpenDosimeter, an open-source radiation dosimetry solution.
Research Interests:
- X-ray fluorescence and phase contrast imaging
- Clinical applications in tumor imaging, mammography, and respiratory imaging
- Frugal engineering for global health challenges
- Open-source medical technologies
Awards:
- KAW Fellowship (Stanford postdoc funding)
- KAW Foundation Repatriation Grant (2024 return to KTH)
Current Projects: Expanding open X-ray technologies in chest radiography, heavy-element contaminant detection, and translational imaging solutions. Teaching X-ray Physics and Applications (SK2551) at KTH.
