Khaled Sallam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University (OSU), affiliated with the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT). He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan (2002), an M.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering (2000), and earlier degrees from Cairo University in Mechanical Power Engineering.
His research focuses on Fluid Dynamics and Thermal Sciences, with specialties in Laser Diagnostics, Holography, Atomization, and Microfluidics. Key projects include droplet-based systems, nanofiber generation via electrospinning, and bio-flow analysis. His lab houses advanced equipment like a subsonic wind tunnel, shock tube, and combustion test rigs for studying atomization and desalination.
Dr. Sallam has received numerous awards, including the 2019 15 Years Tenure Award and multiple teaching recognitions such as the President’s Outstanding Teaching Award (2014). He advises students like Andrew Williamson, a finalist in the 2019 Collegiate Inventors Competition for their desalination unit design.
Professional roles include Chair of the ASME Tulsa Section and Associate Fellow of AIAA. His recent publications span energy systems, jet breakup dynamics, and combustion diagnostics, reflecting interdisciplinary expertise in fluid mechanics and renewable energy.
