Khaled Bendary

Khaled Bendary is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods (Bonn, Germany) since 2025. His research focuses on the intersection of development economics, gender, and labor market dynamics in low-income settings.

• Education: Double MSc in Development Economics (University of Göttingen & Université Clermont Auvergne, 2021–2023), BSc & BComm in Economics of Banking and Capital Markets (Zagazig University, 2015–2020).
• Research Focus: Uses natural experiments to evaluate social protection programs' impact on gender disparities, educational access, and labor outcomes for women in Egypt and the MENA region. Explores long-term effects on child marriage, child labor, and violence against women.
• Affiliations: Member of the Experimental Economics Group at Max Planck Institute.
