Khaled AL-Hroub is a Professor in Residence in the Liberal Arts Program at Northwestern University in Qatar. His expertise spans Middle Eastern studies, politics, and media analysis with a focus on Islam and politics, Arab-Israeli conflict, and Arab media dynamics. He previously served as a research associate at the University of Cambridge's Centre of Islamic Studies and directed the Cambridge Arab Media Project (CAMP).
His academic work includes influential books such as *Hamas: A Beginner's Guide* and edited volumes on political Islam and media studies. He contributes regularly to academic journals like the *Middle East Journal* and writes for international outlets including *OpenDemocracy.com* and *Qantara.de*. From 2000–2007, he hosted a weekly book review program on Al Jazeera.
Hroub’s publications extend to Arabic literature, including prose collections like *Tattoo of Cities* and poetry volumes such as *Enchantress of Poetry*. He has been affiliated with Qatar's Northwestern campus since its establishment, contributing to research initiatives in media, migration, and Middle Eastern socio-political issues.
