Kewan Mertens

Kewan Mertens is an Associated Researcher at Mines Paris, PSL University, specializing in the intersection of environmental sciences and environmental action mechanisms. His work examines how ecological and sustainability sciences shape environmental management and societal engagement at European, French, and local governance levels.

His research focuses on:

• Ecosystem Services and their role in environmental awareness
• Environmental zoning mechanisms (nature reserves, Natura 2000 sites)
• Risk management of natural hazards in the Global South
• Transdisciplinary approaches in ecology
