Kevin Shang is the Joseph J. Ruvane, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Operations Management at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Riverside (1998) and a PhD from UC Irvine (2002). His research focuses on inventory policies for supply chains, operations-finance integration, and renewable energy systems. He has published in top journals like Management Science and Operations Research, and earned multiple awards for his work. His teaching spans inventory theory and operations management, with innovations like the Cash Beer Game. He has advised students on impactful projects, including those on renewable energy policy and inventory optimization.
Research interests include dynamic pricing, queueing control, and data-driven inventory strategies. His work bridges operational efficiency and financial systems, addressing challenges in supply chain resilience and sustainability.
