Kevin Schlaufman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University. His research operates at the intersection of galactic astronomy and exoplanet science, developing observational tests of planet formation models and identifying ancient stellar populations in the Milky Way.
Current projects include the first all-sky search for chemically primitive stars, with emphasis on the inner Galaxy. His work explains exoplanet diversity through dynamical evolution and migration mechanisms, providing constraints on formation theories.
Recent publications analyze exoplanet occurrence rates, planetary migration timing, and stellar obliquity relationships. His research combines statistical approaches with spectroscopic and photometric data analysis.
