معرفی
Kevin Schewior is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Theory of Algorithms) at the University of Cologne. He also holds an Associate Professor position (currently on leave) at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Southern Denmark.
His research lies at the intersection of Theoretical Computer Science, Discrete Mathematics, and Combinatorial Optimization. He focuses on designing and analyzing algorithms for optimization problems under uncertainty, with applications in stochastic scheduling, approximation algorithms, and algorithmic game theory.
Recent work includes contributions to stochastic scheduling (FOCS 2025), k-of-n function evaluation (APPROX 2025), and exploration contracts (STACS 2025). His research spans subfields such as online algorithms, mechanism design, and computational complexity.
Kevin is actively organizing academic events, including a PhD school on Intersections of Algorithms and Machine Learning Theory (2025) and a Dagstuhl Seminar on Approximation Algorithms for Stochastic Optimization (2025). He will also serve as a long-term visitor at the Simons Center for the Theory of Computing (Berkeley, 2025).
