Dr. Kevin Pittle is an academic administrator and scholar at Biola University, currently serving as Interim Director of the Office of Educational Effectiveness and Chair of the Undergraduate Department of Intercultural Studies. With over two decades of experience in higher education, he has held various leadership positions including Department Chair for both Anthropology and Intercultural Studies.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Anthropology and an M.S. in International & Multicultural Education with concentrations in Program Evaluation and Administration from Florida State University, along with a B.A. from the same institution.
Dr. Pittle's research spans anthropology of religion, cognitive anthropology, comparative folklore and mythology, ethnolinguistics, and language and culture. His work often explores the intersection of religious traditions, particularly focusing on Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah), Middle Eastern religious practices, and interreligious dialogue. His scholarly contributions include multiple publications on biblical texts with a focus on Aramaic and Hebrew versions, as well as journal articles examining theological and anthropological perspectives.

As Interim Director of Educational Effectiveness, Dr. Pittle oversees university-wide assessment initiatives for undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree programs, ensuring meticulous reporting to accrediting agencies such as WASC/WSCUC. He leads the administration of key institutional surveys including NSSE/FSSE and HEDS-NSS/FDS, supervises the prior learning assessment program, and engages in policy development and faculty training for meaningful assessment measurement.
