Kevin Pina

Kevin Pina is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at California State University East Bay (CSUEB) in Hayward, CA. He is also a filmmaker, journalist, media consultant, and producer/director at Long Memory Productions. Pina serves as Senior Producer for the program Flashpoints on Pacifica Radio and frequently guest hosts programs on KPFA 94.1 FM in Berkeley, CA.

His work focuses on socio-political issues in Haiti, including international interventions, economic challenges, and media representation. He founded the Haiti Information Project (HIP), an independent news source, and acts as a Country Expert for the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project, a collaboration between the University of Notre Dame and the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
