Kevin McBride is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Connecticut and serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies. His research focuses on Indigenous and Colonial landscapes across New England, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. McBride investigates historical archaeology, maritime adaptations, and battlefield archaeology, with affiliations including the Connecticut Museum of Natural History.
His work explores cultural landscapes through interdisciplinary approaches integrating archaeology, ethnohistory, and archaeobotany. McBride has extensively published on Native American archaeology and colonial interactions.
McBride directs the New World Archaeology Lab and has received recognition from the Governor’s Task Force on Indian Affairs. His fieldwork spans diverse geographical contexts including underwater archaeological sites.
